Thioglycolic medium is used to control sterility.
Purpose: Control of the sterility of medical immunobiological drugs in order to detect possible contamination by aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and mushrooms.
Principle of action: The sample or suspension is introduced into a sterile medium in test tubes and cultivated at 37 ° C. for 24-48 hours. In parallel, unsalted test tube remains a control. When microbiological contamination the environment is cloudy, aerobes form clouds in the upper part of the test tube, anaerobes in the lower one. The peculiarity of the environment is the simplicity of the analysis, and the possibility of analyzing aerobic and anaerobic microflora. This is achieved due to agar agar, which determines the semisolid properties of the medium, and sodium thioglycolate which maintains anaerobic conditions in the lower part of the test tube.
Storage:
Peptone enzymatic - 15 g / l
Extract of fodder yeast - 5 g / l
Sodium chloride - 2.5 g / l
Glucose - 5 g / l

Cysteine - 0.75 g / l
Sodium carbonate - 0,4 g / l
Agar microbiological - 0,75 g / l
Instructions for use:
1. Dissolve 30 g of medium when heated in 1 liter of purified water.
2. Boil 2-3 minutes, until the components are completely dissolved.
3. Spray 10 cm3 of test tubes and autopilot for 15 minutes at 121 C.
