The Gissa medium with   lactose is used to differentiate microorganisms by the ability to ferment sugar and alcohols. The medium indicator, bromocresol purpura, when fermenting carbohydrate (alcohol) and acid separation, changes the color from violet to yellow, indicating the ability of bacteria to ferment this carbohydrate (alcohol). The medium is semi-rigid, crop is carried out by the method of "puncture" by a microbiological loop. The test tubes are incubated at 37 ° C. for 24 hours, after which the color change is assessed.

Sodium chloride - 3 g / l

Sodium hydrophosphate - 0.5 g / l

Bromocresol purple - 0.02 g / l

Instructions for use:

1. Dissolve 13.5 g of medium when heated in 1 liter of purified water.

2. Boil 2-3 minutes, until the components are completely dissolved.

3. Autoclate for 20 minutes at 110 ° C
