Gissa's medium with arabinose is used for the differentiation of microorganisms on the ability to ferment sugars and alcohols. The medium indicator, bromocresol purple, during fermentation of the carbohydrate (alcohol) and acid secretion changes color from purple to yellow, which indicates the ability of bacteria to ferment the carbohydrate (alcohol). The semi-solid medium, seeding method is "pricking" a microbiological loop. The tubes are incubated at 37 ° C for 24 hours, then evaluate the color change.

Principle of action: In the environment there is an indicator - bromocresol purple, which reacts to the fermentation of carbohydrates by changing the color from violet to yellow. If coloration remains violet, carbohydrate fermentation does not occur.

Instructions for use:
1. Dissolve 13.5 g of medium when heated in 1 liter of purified water.
2. Boil 2-3 minutes, until the components are completely dissolved.
3. Autoclate for 20 minutes at 110 ° C
