SET OF RESPONSES FOR DETERMINATION OF ACTIVITY OF ALPHA-AMYMAIL IN BIOLOGICAL LIQUIDS (kinetic)
The kit is intended for quantitative determination of activity of alpha-amylase in biological fluids in clinical diagnostic, biochemical laboratories and scientific research practice.
Storage set - at a temperature from plus 2 ° С to plus 8 ° С.
The warranty period is 12 months from the date of manufacture. The kit is intended for use in vitro by a trained technician.
PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD
Alpha-amylase catalyzes the hydrolysis of a-1,4-bond of a-D-glucose molecules. As a result, dextran, maltose and glucose molecules are formed.
Alpha amylase is synthesized by the exocrine part of the pancreas (P-type) and salivary glands (S-type), it is found in other tissues of the body.
The evaluation of amylase activity in serum and urine is widely used to diagnose pancreatic diseases.
The increase in the activity of a-amylase is highly specific in acute and chronic pancreatitis. In addition, hyperamilasemia can be caused by renal failure, acute abdominal conditions, tumors of the lungs and ovaries, pathology of the salivary glands, macroamilazemia, ketoacidosis, diseases of the biliary tract, brain trauma, chronic alcoholism and consumption of opiates 4.5.
Lowering the activity of? -amylase indicates exogenous pancreatic insufficiency in atrophy of acinar tissue and organ fibrosa in patients who have been suffering from this disease for a long time.
1. Serum of blood:
The activity of Alpha amylase in children in the first two months is low; it rises to the level of adults by the end of the first year of life.
Parotitis, pancreatitis, obstructive and stuttural obstruction or bowel infarction, ectopic pregnancy, perforation of the genital organ, diseases of the biliary tract of all types, diabetic ketoacidosis, cyst or pseudocyst pancreas, peritonitis, macromelaemia, some tumors
lung and ovaries, renal failure, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, abdominal trauma, skull damage, viral infections, conditions after surgery, alcohol.
Malnutrition of the pancreas, expressed cystic fibrosis, severe liver damage, pancreatic cancer.
2. Urine daily:
See Blood serum. However, the values may be normal or decreased with renal insufficiency of macromelaemia. Amylase in the urine may remain elevated for 2 weeks after the onset of acute pancreatitis and may provide for the formation of pseudocysts.
Clinical diagnosis should be based on the integration of clinical and laboratory data.
