Czapek-Dox is used for the cultivation of fungi and yeast. Nutrient medium consists of mineral salts and carbohydrate (glucose or sucrose). There are no peptone and nutrient extracts. That's why the cultivation continued for 7 - 10 days (with temperature 25 ° C). A feature of this environment is the slow growth of microorganisms so that it is easy to observe the process of cultural growth, and to isolate individual colonies.
